Hunchopreneur · Senior Product & UX Designer · Douala, Cameroon

I design products people actually use.

Research, interaction design and design systems for commerce, payments and SaaS. From the first sketch to the shipped build, for people on real phones with real constraints.

I design in places where the internet is patchy, payments run on mobile money and trust has to be earned on every screen. That made me a better designer: fewer assumptions, more listening, and interfaces that still make sense on a small Android with one bar of signal.

How I work

  1. 01

    Listen

Interviews, shadowing, support tickets. The real problem is rarely the one in the brief.

  2. 02

    Sketch

Fast, ugly and on paper. Ten bad ideas are cheaper than one polished wrong one.

  3. 03

    Structure

Flows, hierarchy and content first. If the wireframe doesn’t work, colour won’t save it.

  4. 04

    Craft

Type, spacing, states and motion. A system developers can actually build from.

  5. 05

    Ship & learn

Release, watch what people really do, and iterate. Launch is the start of the research.

The brief

A Canadian immigration and travel consultancy needed a site that does more than look credible. Visitors have to understand the services, trust the team and book a paid consultation without getting lost.

What I did

Took the interface designs from Stitch into a working WordPress build. I designed and developed the responsive pages, wrote custom plugins for managing services, and connected booking and payments end to end.

What we built

  • Service pages, listings and navigation
  • Strategy session booking, with Calendly planned in
  • A Strategic Quotes modal with its own backend
  • Consultation and service payments through WooCommerce
  • Success stories and testimonials editable in WordPress
  • Layouts tuned for mobile, tablet and desktop

The problem

People rewrite the same prompts for every AI tool they use, and the results drift. Good briefs get lost in translation.

What I did

Took it from idea to a live product site: positioning, the brief to pack flow, interface design and the front end build. The full SaaS, with accounts and payments, is in progress.

How it works

  • Write one brief in plain language
  • Get structured prompt packs per tool
  • Image, caption and video prompts in one place

The brief

CodePlay was building a Learning Management System and the TechLeap platform for more than 10,000 African learners, many of them new to learning online.

What I did

Led the design work: interface structure, reusable patterns and user flows, refined through research and usability testing. I also mentored interns and junior designers and helped set design standards.

Result

+25% onboarding success after research led changes to the first run experience.

The problem

Owners who hand their car to a ride hailing driver often track money in a notebook: daily remittances, fuel, repairs, loan repayments. Few can say whether the car actually made money this week.

What I did

Product planning, workflows, UX and development direction for a tool shaped around how vehicles are really run in Cameroon. Version one stays small on purpose: one owner, one vehicle, one driver.

In the MVP

  • Driver income and daily remittances
  • Fuel, repairs and running costs
  • Repayment tracking
  • A clear weekly profit view
  • Web app
  • PWA

The idea

A sports trading product for Cameroon, where fans buy and sell shares in their favourite matches, teams and athletes.

What I did

Product and interface design for the mobile app and the company landing page, working to make a market feel as simple as backing your team.

Focus

  • Live match and price views
  • Buy and sell in a couple of taps
  • A landing page that explains the idea fast

Designing the One Market ecosystem

Most of my time now goes into One Market, a commerce ecosystem built for how Cameroon buys and sells. I lead product and UX across the products below, from early direction to the interfaces people touch.

Live

The marketplace

A shopper app, a vendor app and sourcing services for businesses, tied together by one idea: buying online in Cameroon should feel safe. Shoppers discover and buy; vendors manage products, orders and sales.

The hardest design problem here isn’t the UI. It’s trust. So the escrow checkout makes every step visible.

About

Jason, a.k.a. Hunchopreneur.

I’m Jason Fomenky and I design as Hunchopreneur. Five-plus years across UI, UX and 3D, and a product designer who also writes code. I’ve trained and mentored designers in UX and Adobe XD, and I still think the best way to understand a design is to explain it to someone else.

I speak English and French (and some Spanish), hold a Master’s from IUES/INSAM in Douala, and I’m most at home where research, interface and business meet.
